What
is a Domain Name?
A domain name
is an Internet address similar to your phone number
or address.
Domain names always have 2 or
more parts, separated by a Dot. DotStreet.com is an example of a domain name.
In this example "DotStreet" is a second-level domain name, and "com" is a
top-level domain name.
Once you own a domain name, you
can provide all Internet services including personal
or business websites, email, ftp, dial-up and telnet
using that domain name or address. Viewers would be

A domain name is also an important part of an email
address. When used for an email address, the domain
